What others think about us
Sheilah M. Brooks
As we know, not every student desires to go to college. Many also can’t afford the high price tag that now comes with a college education. The Startup Smartup program has brought our 21st century learners to a level that has made them feel ready for their futures. They now understand that they can make their own money and support themselves, if needed. Thank you Startup Smartup.

Startup Smartup is needed now more than ever. With job markets and college admissions tougher than ever, today’s youth depend on the key 21st century skills of creativity, communication, collaboration, and critical thinking. These skills are not learned from a textbook but from real life experiences. In addition, many of today’s youth are at risk for anxiety, depression, obesity, and addictions. Life skills, confidence, and independence are protective factors for these and other health conditions. Startup Smartup will help young people obtain better health physically, emotionally, and financially.
Entrepreneurship appeals to Generation Y. Nearly half, 46 percent, of Millennials say they plan to start their own business within the next five years, according to the findings of a new study commissioned by EMPLOYERS, a group of companies that provide workers’ compensation to small businesses.
